The society every day is being more oriented towards web technologies and in spreading and providing services through the internet. This phenomenon requires certain standard for voters and voting services, a standard that enable the interaction between the hardware, software, voters and those who administer voting process and in the same time to be very much oriented toward different technologies. So, the EML use a group data and messages described with XML schemes will enable a structured interchange of data for all the parties involved in the voting process. The use of opened specifications from EML will enable promotion of confidence and credibility of the system by allowing the audit of other controlling mechanisms that deal with the privacy of vote, voters and ballots security. This paper aims to analyze and determine the case for use of Election Markup Language – EML during the voting process by showing the values and advantages that can be achieved by using this standard in one part or in all parts of the e-voting, and with specific use of EML for the security of usual interfaces during different phases of the process.
